On May 26, 1920, a group of farmers joined together and started the Ursa Farmers Cooperative, Co., by builiding their first elevator in Ursa, Il .  Our second elevator at Meyer was completed in 1941.  In 1985 the Warsaw and Bowen locations were leased from Hancock Grain Company.  The Loraine and Camp Point facilities were acquired from International Multifoods in 1993.  A new site was completed at Canton, Mo, in March of 2013.  UFC purchased the Gregory Landing and Wayland, Mo elevator in the fall of 2013.  In the fall of 2015 UFC purchased the school Greenfield, it was then remodeled to become a administrative office and community center.   The cooperative today stretches into several counties and reaches into at least three states with our nine locations.
Today, UFC is a cooperative with over 2,500 members.  Co-op members own a share of the company.  Profits are disbursed to members based on their utilization of the co-op through patronage distributions.  Membership is earned by doing business with our copmany.  Preferred Stock can also be purchased and provides an annual dividend to members.
