Winter Wheat Turns Higher While Corn, Soy Remain Under Pressure at Midweek

Trade in row crop futures remained subdued on Wednesday in a low volume and
uneventful session. Soybeans led markets in daily losses amid advancing harvest
across the Midwest. Despite upside momentum being limited, chart support
remains intact across corn, soybean, and wheat markets as of Wednesday's close.
Wheat challenged immediate support early in the session, but reversed from
daily lows, supported by escalation in the Black Sea conflict and behind pace
winter wheat seedings in the U.S. In macro news, the September Consumer Price
Index showed higher inflation than expected with a headline number of 3.7%
annualized, up from 3.4% in August and driven by high energy costs primarily,
though core CPI (less food and energy) also jumped. Treasuries were lower and
yields higher on the news. The latter pushing the U.S. dollar to new 2026
highs, which weighed on currency sensitive export commodities such as corn,
soybeans and wheat.
